What it’s for
When the Flow Runs to Thousands
Main pumping stations, large treatment plants and storm-water sumps move far more than a building’s lift pit. The High Discharge range is Point’s sewage pump built at that scale: sixteen models from 20 to 100 HP, on discharges from 150 to 500 mm, delivering up to 3000 m³/hr — and still passing solids up to 100 mm in sewage, sludge, effluent or surface water with fibrous material.
The motor is 415 V three-phase, IP68 and Class F, rated for continuous duty at 740 to 1460 rpm. An oil-filled chamber keeps the tungsten carbide mechanical seal lubricated, and the cable connection sits in its own chamber, sealed off from the motor. Each pump runs in automatic or manual mode, and can be installed on an auto-coupling system. For flows up to 800 m³/hr, the PS Series covers 1 to 30 HP.
Construction
How It’s Built
A large submersible sewage pump: a continuous-duty motor sealed off from the pumped liquid, over an impeller and casing sized for big flows and solids.

Applications
Where It’s Specified
Main and intermediate pumping stations that lift a town’s, a campus’s or an industrial estate’s sewage on towards treatment.
Inlet and transfer pumping in large sewage and effluent treatment plants, where the flow runs to hundreds or thousands of m³/hr.
Effluent from factories and process plants carrying solid or fibrous material, at volumes a smaller pump can’t keep up with. See industries we serve →
Surface water from sumps, drains and low-lying sites, with the silt and debris it carries.

Which Sewage Pump for the Flow?
Point’s submersible sewage pumps overlap in what they handle. What separates them is the flow and head, and what the sewage carries.
-
High DischargeYou’re here
Sewage and effluent at large-scale flow — up to 3000 m³/hr and 40 m, 20–100 HP, solids up to 100 mm.
-
PS Series — Sewage
Passes solids and fibre through a large discharge — 2–800 m³/hr to 45 m, particles up to 270 mm.
-
PDS Series — Drainage
Grey water, drainage and effluent with soft solids to 20 mm — 1–10 HP at 2880 rpm, up to 100 m³/hr and 30 m head.
-
PCC Series — Chopper
Rotary and stationary cutters chop oversized solids and stringy material as it pumps — 7–1000 m³/hr to 30 m.
Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I read a model name?
Left to right: the discharge size in mm, the series, then the duty point — flow in m³/hr and head in metres — and the motor in HP. 300PSS-1000-20-100 is a 300 mm pump delivering about 1000 m³/hr at 20 m head on a 100 HP motor.
What’s the difference between PS and PSS models?
Both are Point sewage pumps. The PSS is designed for sewage and sludge with a very large proportion of solid or fibrous material, with an enclosed two-channel impeller and a replaceable wear ring. Tell us your flow, head and what the sewage carries, and we’ll name the model.
Can it run without an operator?
Yes — each pump is available for automatic or manual operation. Tell us how the sump is controlled when you enquire.
How is the motor kept dry?
The tungsten carbide mechanical seal runs in an oil-filled chamber that keeps it lubricated, and the cable connection has a chamber of its own, isolated from the motor — so a leak at the cable can’t reach the windings.
How do we service it without entering the sump?
Install it on an auto-coupling system. The pump lifts out on guide rails with no flange bolting and no sump entry, and its own weight reseals the connection on the way back down.
