Solid-Liquid Separator

Solid-Liquid Separator

A screw-press separator that dewaters slurry into a solid cake and a clarified liquid — fully automated, continuous processing with minimal manual intervention. Used for sludge dewatering in treatment plants and, on the biogas side, for separating digested slurry into a solid fertilizer cake and a liquid fraction after digestion.

What it’s for

Continuous Dewatering, Minimal Intervention

Slurry feeds into the hopper and is carried by a screw through a stainless steel filter housing, pressing liquid out through the screening while the compacted solids are carried on to discharge — a continuous process rather than a batch cycle, so it runs unattended once fed.

The filter screening is stainless steel grade 304 for corrosion resistance and long service life; the frame and main base are mild steel channel to IS 2062. The unit is mounted on rubber-tyred wheels, so it can be moved between duties rather than fixed to one line, and its straightforward design keeps day-to-day operation and routine servicing simple.

01 Feed inlet Inlet head with pipe connections, where the slurry enters the press.
Electric motor and green gearbox at the drive end of the press
02 Gear motor 5 HP, 1400 rpm three-phase motor through a 30:1 EM Power gearbox.
Slotted stainless steel filter screen around the press screw
03 Filter screen Stainless steel grade 304 screen round the screw; the liquid passes out through it.
Spring-loaded discharge end of the screw press
04 Spring-loaded discharge Holds the solids back until they are pressed, then lets the cake out.

Applications

Where It’s Specified

Municipal & industrial sludge dewatering

Continuous dewatering of municipal and industrial sludge, delivering effective separation with high processing capacity.

Biogas digestate separation

Separates digested slurry from biogas and anaerobic digestion plants into a solid fertilizer cake and a liquid fraction — the step after digestion, feeding the pre-processing range upstream of it.

Livestock & agricultural waste

Livestock farms — cattle, dairy, poultry and pig — and agricultural waste management systems, where manure and farm residue need dewatering before storage, composting or land application.

Distillery, starch & food processing

Distillery and brewery waste treatment, cassava and starch processing, food and beverage processing, and organic waste and composting facilities.

Common questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this an STP product or a biogas product?

Both. It's built for sludge dewatering in treatment plants, and the same machine separates digested slurry into a solid fertilizer cake and a liquid fraction after biogas digestion — so it appears in both ranges.

Does it run continuously or in batches?

Continuously. Slurry feeds in and solids discharge on an ongoing basis rather than a fill-and-empty cycle, which is what keeps manual intervention to a minimum.

Can it be configured for a specific process?

Yes — it's available in configurations tailored to specific process requirements rather than a single fixed specification.
